BMX flatland riders know Marcos as a former rider. Paris graffiti veterans know him as Snic, an active figure in the scene since the late ’80s. In the ’90s, he took on the name DJ Coshmar, producing his first mixtapes and releasing two turntablism albums, Politically Uncorrect (2002) and Concrete Or Abstract (2007), both made entirely on vinyl turntables.
Since 2006, Marcos has also been the founder and creative director of Star Wax, a print magazine dedicated to vinyl, DJs, beatmakers and urban culture. Born in Las Palmas, in the Canary Islands, and raised in the Paris suburbs, he has developed a multidisciplinary practice shaped by decades spent immersed in hip-hop and underground culture.
Today, he curates vinyl compilations and works as an international DJ, taking his records from resorts and private events to block parties. His travels have taken him across France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Belgium and Germany, as well as Réunion Island, Bangkok, Bali, Singapore, Vietnam and the Philippines. Wherever he plays, the same instincts remain: digging for records, working the decks and sharing good music.
