DJ, turntablist, and tireless activist, Dr. NOKMAN discovered mixing and scratching in the early 1990s, inspired by Dee Nasty and hip-hop culture. Settling in London in 1993, he founded the Natty Bass Sound System with DJ Slider and DJ Ranium, performing his first sets across British clubs while regularly returning to France. His selections navigated hip-hop, trip-hop, reggae, and drum’n’bass.
In 1998, he joined Cosmik Connection, winners of the Electro selection at Printemps de Bourges 2000, with whom he toured until 2001. In the 2000s, he founded the 100 Pit Crew collective in Toulouse, leaving a lasting mark on the local scene. Relentless on the decks, he has recorded over thirty mixtapes and played more than 500 nights across France, Europe, Algeria, and Canada.
Dr. Nokman has shared the stage with Portishead, Amon Tobin, Agoria, Carl Craig, DJ Cam, Scratch Perverts, DJ Pone, and many others.
As a host and producer on Graffiti Radio, he also runs Les Samples du Samedi on social media, showcasing his discoveries and musical selections. He is half of the duo Ptr&Stvn, whose track Dynamic Fusion inspired a 2025 remix EP featuring Yohei, N’Zeng, LMN, Drixxxé, and Rhum One. Another milestone in the career of a DJ who continues to weave connections across scenes and eras.
